Now, let’s get into the data…
1. How recently have teachers used AI for their school work?
Teachers are using AI for their school work – but how many are making use of the new technology?
Quite a lot, in fact! 43% of teachers have used AI in the past week, while another 19% used it within the last month. A smaller group (7%) last used it more than three months ago. That suggests AI is something teachers either integrate into their routine or try once and move on.
But when it comes to student AI use, things look different. Only 2% of teachers permitted students to use AI for homework, while 14% make it an optional tool.
Most teachers still assign offline homework – 80% say their assignments don’t require the internet at all. This could be because of a lack of reliable internet access at home, or just because it’s easier to set offline work.
As more teachers join Teacher Tapp, we’ll be able to see how AI use varies across elementary, middle, and high school. Keep an eye out for more AI-related questions in the app!
2. Praising pupils
Jumping back into the classroom: how do teachers reward students?
In the last lesson they taught…
🗣️ 80% gave verbal praise.
💟 15% used stickers or stamps.
💻 10% recorded praise in an online system.
🏆 7% rewarded students in another way.
We Want Your Input!
What do you want to know about student praise and rewards? 🤔
- Do teachers pay for prizes out of pocket?
- What’s expected when organizing school competitions?
- Which behaviors are most commonly rewarded?
- Have you ever had a parent complaint about a child not receiving praise?
Send us your ideas! 💡 You can reach us via the app (Settings → ‘Contact Us’) or email us at usa@teachertapp.com.
3. Would You Still Become a Teacher?
If you had a time machine, would you go back and change your career path? Would you stop your younger self from becoming a teacher?
It’s a great way to measure how someone really feels about their job. Leaving teaching isn’t easy—there’s job security, health insurance, and student loans to consider. But when faced with an imaginary time machine, the heart often speaks louder than the paycheck!
So, what do teachers say?
- 56% stand by their choice—they’d become teachers again in a heartbeat.
- 23% would take a different path and never enter the classroom.
- 21% are undecided—we’ll have to wait for time travel to see what they pick!
Those of you who would make other choices…what would you do instead? 🚀⏳
